Café Triest

You press the buzzer of a barely conspicuous door on the Via Dolorosa. And you gain access to an institution that would not look out of place on Vienna’s Ringstrasse.

The Austrian Hospice Café Triest brings the charm of Viennese coffee-house culture to the Orient. Whether in the Kaiserstüberl or outside on the terrace – the largest freely accessible green space in the Old City – the café is the ideal place to pause and refresh yourself over a Viennese mélange and apple strudel during your visit to the Old City of Jerusalem.

Schnitzel and Sachertorte are also available, of course, served by our local staff or by one of our young volunteers from Austria. In time-honoured fashion.

Our Café Triest is also open to guests who are not staying with us. The kitchen with local and Austrian specialties is open until 9 pm, the coffee-shop closes at 10 pm. Open daily from 10 in the morning.
