Thank you for your interest in community service in the Austrian Hospice.

For some years it has been possible to serve the period of community service in the various departments of our Hospice, both in the guest and cultural field.

On your way to such a deployment, the following should be borne in mind:

The Ministry of the Interior has consigned responsibility for the administration of community services abroad to a so-called sponsor agency, whose authority can cover several service locations. The Austrian Hospice is also such a service location, with the respective rector as director of operations, namely the direct supervisor of the community service worker on site.

Due to the long duration of this service (at present 12 months) and the legal implications of the agreement between the candidate and sponsor agency/ministry, we reserve the right to conduct selection interviews with the respective candidates during an Austrian visit of the rector.

Prior to any commencement of service, preparatory seminars organised by the sponsor agency have to be completed in Austria; but on its part the sponsor agency will only become active when there is a clear signal from us that we have already accepted the prospective candidates.
